What is Acne ?
The problem of acne is common mainly to teenagers who undergo major hormonal changes that trigger the body to produce more oils(sebum) in the skin. Acne occurs when a skin pore becomes clogged due to excess of sebum and dirt, bacteria begins to form and the pore becomes inflamed causing a pimple. Pimple leaves ugly marks on the skin. A pimple may become a 'Whitehead' or a 'Blackhead'.

When pores become clogged with excess oil(sebum), dirt and dead cells they appear as flesh colored bumps and called 'Whiteheads' or pimples. But when these clogged pores become exposed to air they become darker and turn into what we call 'Blackheads'. Blackheads usually tend to form in the most oily areas of face like- nose, cheeks and the chin.
9 Simple Home Remedies
Both milk and honey have exceptional properties for regaining the luster of skin. Milk combined with honey are extremely useful for removing blackheads. While honey is a antibacterial agent the lactic acid in milk helps skin to remain soft and supple.
You will need :
One teaspoon of honey
One teaspoon of warm milk
And a few strips of cotton or tissue paper
Mix honey with milk in a small container and stir well. Make the mixture a bit warm. Apply a thin layer of the mixture over the areas of blackheads and pat a strip of cotton or tissue paper firmly over it. Leave for 20 minutes. Afterwards peel the cotton or tissue paper carefully and wash face with lukewarm water. This procedure not only clears the clogged pores but also nourishes the skin.
- #2 Honey With Cinnamon
Cinnamon mixed with honey is a wonderful combination of removing blackheads and cleaning the clogged pores of the skin. It may be described as one of the most effective remedies of treating blackheads. The procedure is very simple.
You will need :
Two tablespoon of honey
Two tablespoon of cinnamon
The procedure is very simple. Just mix the honey with cinnamon well. Then apply it over the affected areas. Allow almost half an hour to dry. Then rinse with warm water and use moisturizer as usual.

Egg white mixed with honey is another extraordinary combination that works well on removing the blackheads and keeping the skin supple, soft and young.
You will need :
White of an egg
One tablespoon of honey
Break the egg white into a bowl and blend it well with honey. A facial tissue paper may be used to apply it on the entire face. Apply a second layer on the areas affected with blackheads. Rinse after 20 minutes. You will have a glowing skin. The mixture also protects the skin against developing further blackheads.

Egg whites are rich in nutrients and are capable of removing the blackheads immaculately apart from forming a shield against future blackheads.
You will need :
One egg
Tissue Paper
A Towel
Collect the egg white separating the yolk. Before applying rinse face with warm water. Now allow 5 minutes to dry your face. Now soak a piece of tissue paper with the egg white. Press it gently on your face. Allow a few minutes to dry and then apply a second layer. You may feel your skin a bit tightened after both the layers dry. Next peel the tissue paper gently and wash face to make it completely free of egg whites. Follow this procedure twice a week and you have a strong protection against blackheads.

Baking Soda, with its natural properties to remove oil and dirt, goes a long way to remove blackheads. It's the small and fine granules of 'Baking Soda', which is strong enough to remove anything that clogs the pores.
You will need :
1 part of baking soda
And 2 parts of water
The method is simple. Just make a light paste of baking soda with water and apply it as a mask on the entire face massaging with a gentle and circular motion. Allow at least half an hour for the mask to dry. Afterwards rinse face with clean water and use a moisturizer.

This is the most easy and simple procedure. Blackheads thrive when the clogged pores come in contact with oxygen. Lemon juice stops oxygen supply to blackheads by shrinking the pores. Besides lemon juice removes blemishes and brightens skin tone.

Rinse face with a face wash to remove dirt, before doing this procedure. Pat face dry. Soak a cotton ball with lemon juice and apply on the affected areas. Leave overnight. Rinse face with warm water and use moisturizer as usual. Follow this method 3 to 4 times a week.
- #7 Tomato Mask
This is another easiest way to use at home.
- You will need :
A medium size tomato
Rinse face to remove dirt and other particles. Use a soft towel, pat dry. Now squeeze the tomato and apply it on face massaging with circular motion for a few minutes.. If your facial skin is dry type then you may add some olive oil with the tomato mask otherwise do not add olive oil. Leave the mask there for 20 minutes and afterwards rinse face. You are free to use a moisturizer as well.
- #8 Lemon with Milk
This useful remedy may be prepared at home with easily available cheap natural ingredients.
- You will need :
2 Tablespoon of Milk and
4 Teaspoon of Lemon Juice
Just stir and mix them well. Apply on face, leave for 30 minutes. Alternatively, rose water may be used instead of milk. Later wash face with lukewarm water. If the process is used daily, it has an amazing effect on skin free of pimples and blackheads.

Various types of cosmetic clay in powdered form are available in the market. These cosmetic clay used by beauticians are capable of drying out the oily pores. But for best result they must be mixed with apple cider vinegar.

Cosmetic Clay Powder
Apple Cider Vinegar
A Bowl
A soft towel
Mix the clay powder well with required amount of water and make a paste. Now add reasonable amount of apple cider vinegar. Apply this mask evenly on face. Allow 15 minutes to dry. Rinse face with lukewarm water.
You may adopt any two or three of the above procedures, suitable for you to enjoy a pretty free of Blackheads.
